you know how you're in a loving relationship and then some bad love creeps in because it's not going well and you need to work on it?
that's how i'm feeling right now.
i was a gunner since a year before that but i truly fell in love with arsenal 4 years ago when i watched them make their way to the top and win the FA cup in the 2004-2005 season.
and then i continued loviing them because they know their football and they love their football.
the relationship wasn't yielding beautiful results but there was no love lost between us. Arsenal and I were still happy together.
BUT THE NOW THE 2008-09 SEASON HAS COME TO AN END AND STILL NO TROPHIES.

i know the team has potential- BUT WHEN WILL THE POTENTIAL BECOME PRIZES.

evra insulted arsenal quite badly but what can i say to the truth. i can just quote him-
"It was 11 men against 11 children. We never doubted ourselves. We have much more experience and that's what made the difference. We were always confident. It should have been that score in the first leg anyway. It is a great United team that won.

arsenal and i are still in a relationship but now we're working hard at it. at least i am. it's not a love hate relationship, it's always been true love. but right now, it's the bad love phase.

it's all very well to play flowing football, and say you have the potential, but in the end, you HAVE to win trophies to be a great side.
it's like doing well in the mocks, and then screwing up the CLAT, and saying, "But I did well on the mocks" Not on, man. Not on.
I've been a gunner fan since a decade now. (No I'm not middle aged :P) I've seen the glory days, the Invincibles, the back to back League titles, and all by playing the most beautiful football in the world.
Sadly, for the last few years (ok, not few, quite a lot actually) Arsenal hasn't kept pace with the big clubs.
But I still think that it is the only club where the team performs much better than their individual potential, because of the way they play as a team.
I've had to change my expectations and accept that till we've money to splash on expensive signings, I'll just have to be content with watching their beautiful football and make do without silverware. Sucks though..
