THIS BLOG IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF SERVICE.

i thought maybe i'll come to law school and continue blogging. i used to wonder what i'd do all day in Nagarbhavi. i got myself loads of movies to watch and felt really bad that i wouldn't be able to watch TV. little did i know that law school not only sucks the happiness out of you but also snatches away the little traces of a life left in you.
so, i apologise but i shall have to be back later when i actually have something to talk about apart from projects, assignments and exams which seems to be all i do these days.
allow me to sign off for a long time with a thought-
LAW SCHOOLS SHOULD COME WITH A STATUTORY WARNING.

Baarish ka hai Muasam, kar lo maza hamaare sang (ew, i know.)

So, it raining like *&^k in Bangalore.
I mean, Mumbai feels the heat and is thirsting for rain, but its pouring in bangalore.
So global warming is not a lie after all. i always wanted to believe it was just a lie you told school kids to teach them to switch off the lights so your electricity bills aren't out of the world.
hmmmmph...
Well, this post is only about my love for the rain. especially my love for singing in the rain. I mean, i never understood why i love the rains so much. Its quite an illogical phenomenon. droplets of freezing cold water falling from the sky, the resultant animal life(i mean the yucky snails and the mosquitoes breeding in the puddles) , the clothes which just don't dry (and that really sucks when you live in a hostel). But i still love it. i love the umbrellas. Pretty objects i tell you. But most of all i love getting drenched in the rain and shivering in the cold which creeps up your body through your wet, freezing feet.
and i love singing dirty rain songs. Have you evert noticed how the worst of songs seem just so fabulous when you sing them in the rain? now i'm not your aadarsh bharatiya naari. i'm quite lecherous for a girl :) whistling at random men and singing dirty songs is a favourite pass time of mine but some of these songs are actually fun to sing. trust me on that.
like for example-
a) chori chori chhora chhori chhat pe milenge
aur khelenge prem game
chhod ke saari baatein sab
romance rahega main
on the roof, in the rain
on the roof, in the rain.
I mean its no 'kabhi kabhi mere dil mein' lyrics wise.
but its CRAZY fun singing it.
Also,
b)rain is falling chhama chham chham
ladki ne aankh maari
gir gaye hum
rain is falling chhama chham chham
this one is really a classic. who would come up with the line chhama chham chham. just brrilliant.
c)tip tip barsa paani
paani ne aag lagayi.
aag lagi dil mein
toh dil ko teri yaad aayi...
this one is my absolute favourite in ghaati baarish songs. i sang it since i was little. soecially when i was having a hot water shower after getting wet in the rain.
now that i have told you the fun, lecherous ones, there are some really nice ones as well
i think the sweetest one is the one from 1942, A love story
d) Rimjhim Rimjhim
Rumjhum rumjhum
bheegi bheegi rut mein
tum hum hum tum
chalte hai....
I mean put me and my lover boy in a rainwala scene (not going to happen considering he hates the rain), play the song in the background and watch me fall in love all over again.
its great. it really is.
I'll go now, work on my projects for a change.
But you download these songs and listen to them when its raining. then you'll get my point. :)

The various species of women

You know what they say about women, can't live with them, can't kill them. (...or was that men?)
The incomprehensible specie.
The confused specie.
The unreasonable, the irrational one.
Each one is different, but they are still al the same.
This post i thought of when i was looking around, studying the various people around me at Law School.
The sociological genius inside of me awoke and i realised that law school has every sort of woman there could be.
Now, we are generalizing here.. but i'm sure you want to know what i'm talking about.
The various kind os women in law school-

The Hottie
Now we have these everywhere. Male attention follows them like a shadow and they love this attention. They are sexy, they are smoldering. And they take your mind to places which shouldn't be mentioned on a public forum.
Sometimes mistaken for The Boyfriend Stealer.

The Girl Next Door
This one's the adorable one. The one who leaves food on your table when she knows you cried yourself hungry to sleep last night. She comes and flashes a smile everyday. You don't know what you're missing till she isn't around one day. And boy, are you glad to have her back?

The Housewife
This is the one with the cleanest room, stocked food shelf and fresh laundered clothing all the time. She does the household shopping and beautifies the room. She wakes you up in the morning with a big smile too.

The Slimy One
This one can't say nice things about other girls. She must downplay them. She must assert only her own awesomeness. She takes stories from one place to another. She'd do anything to get where she wants to be. Not pleasant. Not pleasant at all.

The Flirt
This one's all over the men and does she have the lines or does she have the lines?
She knows what to say and how tro flatter. She's generally cute and if not, at least has quite the attractive personality.

The Insecure One
This one's the cry baby and wants everyone to like her all the time. The insecurity is pissing off so she is generally not that well liked and she cries about it and pisses you off some more.

The Man
I don't think this needs to be defined. i'm sure we're clear here.

The Tomboy
She's hot in her own way. Plays basketball with the boys and prefers shorts and loose tees to any other attire. The boys count her as one among them but always prod her to be a little bit feminine. She is generally the best friend.

The Aadarsh Bharatiya Naari
This one is always in culture shock. She'd rather be married off than see these couples canoodling around the place.

The Boyfriend Stealer
She watches out for the weak moments. She picks out the easy baits. She must steal another woman's man. There's a thrill to it.

The Shy Little One
She's the one with the sweetest smile. She won't talk much but she's just so easy to like.

The Gold Digger
She's out to get the big fish. And she really knows how to do it. Tears and Kisses later. She found hers. Now she just won't leave his side.

The Blonde
The braindead, gorgeous one with everything pink. The boobs cover up for the brains. These have the most fun apparently.

The Wannabe Blonde
This one's not blonde but she really really really wants the world to think she is. Because she wants the male attention. And blondes just have more fun.

The Power Woman
This one's the leader of the pack. The feminist. The one you look up to and the one who gives you notes. She always tops. She has to. Because ambition is what truly defines her.

We did miss out one though because i haven't seen one of these around yet-
The One who Shrieks
She shouts when she's happy, she is shrill when she talks, she's daddy's little princess. She screams when she sees insects. Hostel ites don't do that. But big cities have these all over the place.

Law School, not funny. But still...

Life or the lack thereof in law school gets funny sometimes you know.
Like the guy who fell face down on the slippery walk to the library and had two pretty senior girls laugh in his face.
Like the guy whose girlfriend intimidates him.
Like the guy who snored loudly in a guest lecture today by a professor from Yale.
Like the teacher who has endowment issues. (read:needs to check out how well endowed his students are irrespective of their gender)
Like the prince who wears paragon chappals.
Like crushing a snail and thinking it was a scorpion.
Like getting noticeably fatter because you just came back after a fortnight from home.
Like the girls who just refuse to be girly and have boys telling them to walk right and talk right.
Like reaching the library early enough but finding the relevant shelf ransacked because of the phenomenally geeky people in the batch.
Like nicknames becoming the identity of a person to the extent that people who have known them for years forget their names.
Like concocting stories about teachers' lives because of the serious dearth of entertainment.
Like still writing your blog after writing the million papers due just because you miss your readers.
until next time.
Kisses * :D

Miss Universe and all that Jazz

So,
this gorgeous eighteen year old from venezuela won miss universe. Making it venezuela's sixth and second cosecutive.
for a record, that's phenomenal.
But the background is retarded.
the stupid country is crazy!!!
I mean apart from being anti US and all (not that i think the US is the coolest place on the planet) those people are obsessed (read: *UCKING OBSESSED) with these beauty pageant things. Apparently, they think its the perfect path to fame and fortune.
The Miss Venezuela pageant telecast has 80% viewership and those people sell miss venezuela dolls.
They have academies which train you military style for posture, smile, dance and such other pageant-y things and ensure you win. Yes, they also offer plastic surgery.
I mean, i totally get the importance of external beauty and all but really- this must be one shallow country.
Like there, teenage girls think its normal to have breast implants so they can emulate these living barbie dolls.
Really,
considering the first world is already seeing the sexism in it, (and all of us coming from apes copy the first world anyway)something should be done about it.
or let's just stick to the venezuelan mantra-
"if you have beautiful women(even if the scalpel makes them so), show them to the world"

ooooh jackpot

sometimes, niyati blogs twice a day.
Thats when the readers who keep coming back to her blog hit the jackpot.
this is one of those times :) :P
but this isn't that meaningful.
It's just me making a pathetic attempt at getting people to start reading this blog again.
but really this calvin and hobbes snippet i came across is so true. Check it out-
Calvin - "You can't just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood.

Hobbes - What mood is that ?

Calvin - Last minute panic.

A little bit of Bombay

It was always official.
Just reiterating.
Bombay is the only place in the world which I can ever call home.
Really, the city is absolutely gorgeous.
I must quote a friend. (excuse the crass language)
"Bombay is like the whore you keep coming back to."
It fucks you, but you need to come back for another one.
So, I'm in the city for a week or two thanks for the random swine flu vacation that we get from Law School and as always Bombay has lots to offer.
Its Ganpati time so there are pandals that have mushroomed ALL OVER THE PLACE.
You keep complaining about them and the traffic they cause, but the festival isn't complete till you have visited at least one of them. Most of the time its Lalbaugcha Raja.
Considering i have to visit a whole lot of friends who have Ganpati at their place, I also have somthing to do. Which is nice.
But you know what's the best part about the festival apart from the fact that its so bloody lively and everyone's so excited all the time.
You get the warm fuzzy feeling. The kind you get when your favourite cousin is coming to spend a few days at home.
And everyone's all excited. Very "Look who's in town!!" type.
But its not raining. Doesn't feel like Bombay in August.
Global Warming/Climate Change (whatever it is) Sucks.
Its been eventful. The city yet again catalyzed a lot of things in my life, cheered me up and has me all geared up for another session at law school. This time a longer one.
I should let you in on a secret- i know you don't think this was the best post ever, but i'm just trying to become regular again
Much love.

It's Cool Plane Story Time!

So,
you know how some of the coolest stories come from incidents that take place in aeroplanes?
up above the world so high, like a birdie in the sky?
Yup..... I have one more of those.
You don't know the first. So , more doesnt apply to you.
IF you MUST know,
i met one of my best friends on a flight to Paris. Like she was the random stranger who was sitting next to me on the plane and talkative that i am, i talked her ears off.
We just exchanged email ids and lo! We ended up being in St. Xavier's College together for two years :).
So we're cool plane buddies and everything. (Do NOT call us lame. I know you want a plane buddy too!)
Ok, that apart.
Let's now tell you the story, im blogging about.
Now you know home for me is Bombay. Hostel for me is Bangalore.
I was home for the long independence day weekend. And it was time to go back to Law School. I was sad i was leaving home but glad i was going back because i had begun to miss the place thoda thoda.
I checked in my baggage with my friends, finished security check and boarded the plane. The plane took off and an hour and half later, it safely landed at Bengaluru Airport.
Ok, the story is definitely not that boring.
So, the funny part.
Once we landed, i inserted my bangalore sim card back into my phone and switched it on only to be BOMBARDED with messages saying,
"Welcome to Bangalore Guys! :)
I spoke to your Moms fifteen minutes after you boarded.
College is closed for the next twelve days.
Time to go home :)"
So,
we walk out of the plane, take the bags from baggage claim, walk out of the airport towards departures, buy tickets to go back to Bombay immediately. We had a couple of hours so we grabbed a Kaati Roll. Ate, checked in, security check and came straight back home.
So, we travelled to Bengaluru for the purpose of eating a Kaati Roll? One expensive Kaati Roll that was.
And NO. We were not playing "Flight Flight".
So, this is me. Blogging with a lot of louve for my readers. The kind of louve that comes from a good night's sleep, having nothing to do and getting milk in bed, all at home. Home Sweet Home.
PS- miss me 9834y92837402394985 till i post again.
much love.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

Nothing really. Like genuinely.

i don't know whether the world has become such a boring place that there is a dearth of things suddenly to write about or havi i just become creatively handicapped!
like all my theories are going for a toss-
take for example the theory which states that the desire to blog is inversely proportional to the number of days to an exam/project submission.
project submission is day after tomorrow and i had to practically force myself to blog today.
oh this post isn't for that-
this one's because-
DO ANY OF YOU WATCH HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER?
Because i am so HOOKED.
i mean, the show is legen...wait for it....dary.
(if any of you did not get the joke you should either shoot yourself or start watching the show)
But the post isn't about that either.
My blog has now become a i-whine-about-my-life-come-listen type of blog.
sort of sad.
but i am not a loser like some of my followers here(read: viraj, vikram, paarth, abhishek) who have just randomly STOPPED blogging because they have no ideas.
come on.
But this post isn't about that.
It's about how i have project submission and i'm blogging.
shoot, i'm going to fail my first course at law school.
(which by the way believes that all its students have super human powers and can multi task so magically that they can easily and wonderfully complete work worth 6 months in 3.)
oh and ya
if any of you have any ideas with respect to what i should blog about tell me.
because i will blog about it.
and you can bask in my awesome-ness :P

Citizens of GeekLand

Well,
so here we are.
stuck in GeekLand.
i CANNOT have yet another whiny post but i don't have anything brilliant either but little tidbits of how screwed up a small community can be.
well i can distribute gossip.
nameless ofcourse.
here-
we have
  1. people who are here hoping to party, want to party and dress like they're going to party in class
  2. people who are seriously messy and throw their stuff on other people's desks
  3. people who claim to have felt up another person by having checked the strength of the latter's calves
  4. people who get scadalized by the fact that i am seeing someone
  5. people who smoke on terraces at 3 am
  6. people who smoke because seniors do
  7. people who need to check the sizes of clothes they should be wearing.(too tight makes things pop you know)
  8. people who swallow more food than the air they breathe
  9. people who think they're god's gift to mankind
  10. teachers who stare at necklines(women's essentially)
  11. people who think a couple sitting, holding each other's hands need to get a room
  12. people who think its cool to be able to survive on less than 5 hours of sleep
  13. people who have serious issues with synchronizing their choice of clothing with the time period they're living in
  14. people who talk like there's no tomorrow
  15. people who are closet NERDS
  16. people who talk more in class than the teacher
  17. people who mark their territory on new friends
  18. people who blog about pointless things because that's the only thing that keeps them from going crazy
i'm really not jobless here. In fact i've never been so loaded with work as i am here, but some things and some people you love so much that you end up finding time for them only to make the day a teensy bit more fulfilling along with productive.

Law School is a Funny place to be

so, if you think law students are exceptionally boring people mired in gloom, surrounded by books and have no life-
You are pretty much right.
But that doesn't mean law school is not a ridiculously funny place to be at.
i can elaborate-

Take only today for example.

EVENT ONE
3.00 AM

tired, sleepy, hungry i was watching How I Met Your Mother. I thought i'd watch just one more episode (that shit is addictive) and then fall asleep on my amazingly uncomfortable bed (which also creaks just BTW)
AND THEN-

*knock knock*

cursing inside of my head, i put the laptop aside and got up to check who it was. I mean- who'd come to annoy me at 3.00 AM??!

I opened the door and LO!
it was a very stoned senior.
giggling
Senior:"Niyati!!!!"
Me:"Hello" I said.(faking a smile. you don't want to mess with seniors just yet)
*giggle*
Senior:"i was just watching tv"
me:"you reek of smoke"
Senior:"Really!!?" *giggle*
me:"you reek of other substances as well"(it was an attempt to tell her i could smell the weed)
Senior:"shhhhhhhhhhhhh.....Don't tell anyone"*giggle*
me:"do you want something? And you do realise this building isn't where you live na?"
Senior:"i'm going. But do you have some food?"

so saying, i handed her a jar of biscuits and sent her to bed.

EVENT TWO
10.08 AM

This one doesn't really deserve detail. In short-
we have a nice, bald teacher who has this annoying habit of calling us all his friends. Bored out of our wits, Viraj and I were making tally marks everytime he used the word.
our conclusion- ya. he uses the word friend once every 2.4 minutes.

EVENT THREE
3.00 PM

We're in a ridiculously dull "How to write Projects" extra class. She's telling us how we list our primary sources and secondary sources in a term paper and randomly John Techi runs out of class.
I poked Dheer and Vikram who were sitting (to their misfortune) in front of me and asked where Techi ran.(for the record, Techi is THE MAN)
They told me he ran out as he REALLY had to pee.
ordinary thing, so i just giggled generally.
Then he walks back in and the teacher confiscates his phone.
Ya. Techi ran out to take a call. From a friend. In the middle of class. With NO warning.
SAMPLES I TELL YOU.

So, the day's just barely half-way through and its already been quite eventful.
Law Students aren't THAT boring after all.
Cut us some slack.

comments?

come on.
i'm alone at law school.
o need some support.
be nice to me.
i haven't had a comment in 5 posts.
this being the sixth.
*makes sad pouty face*

pretty please.

the good life?

i'm living quite a funny life right now.
and obviously- this is going to be a sorry sorry post. but oh well. what all i do to keep it alive at least.
SO...
Law School.
All of us here are full of ourselves. We got into the best law school in the country and stuff. and then-
you realise you're leaving home.
*first pillar of your air castle crashes*
then you leave. A lot of hugs and weepy moments later, you reach law school.
where, of course, the (expected) ecstasy of arrival doesn't even come CLOSE to the sorrowful departure.
*second pillar of your air castle crashes*
then you start living in the hostel. and start missing home. and missing those clean private toilets you always took for granted.
*Third pillar of the air castle crashes*
then you go to class which are a YAWN. and you're slapped with HOURS of homework from the first day onwards.
*a couple of pillars crash on this one*
and then you realise you have sad, depressing classmates who by choice spend 8 extra hours in the library on an average. and even sadder ones who complain to the wardens about the only bit of entertainment in your life as of yet- the ragging.
*CRASH! BOOM! BANG!!*
everything crashes. EVERYTHING.
and the harsh reality hits you.
You're in Law School.
Slit throat competition.
screwed up geeks all around.
And a small little community where word travels faster than the speed of light and reputations stick with you for your entire life.
a place where you learn to watch your back.
because everyone's waiting to stab it.
But also the place,
where you're going to spend the next 5 years.
where you'll make the best friends you've ever made.
and a little bright ray of anticipation can be seen.
and thats the one you start counting on.
because thats the only way you deal with
a) teachers who are so in their zone- they mumble.
b) teachers who are so good they fail you for being mediocre.
c) teachers who pass you because you wear low necklines.
d) friends' roommates who ask them to not trust anyone.
e) a boyfriend who doesn't even sit next to you in class (that's just a mindless taunt :P)
f) all the bullshit in the whole wide universe
i'm still the happy person i was.
don't worry just yet.:)
if i start displaying suicidal tendencies- i promise you guys will be the first to know.
XOXOX

A Warm Welcome to Law School

Well so i'm at law school.
and i don't like it very much right now.
let me explain-
i am surrounded by geeks who run to the library to issue books and skip lunch to do so.
i'm quite sure i shall lose my fashion sense or i shall be very disturbed by the end of the fifth year because of the clothes people wear.
Classes are a yawn and i don't understand a word my Vice Chancellor says and he takes my Legal Methods class.
My Eco teacher went on a homework giving spree on the first day and the seniors claim that they go easy on you on the first day.
i live in a hostel where stray dogs climb upto the third floor common room to chill with us and frogs hop around EVERYWHERE.
It is very cold and we aren't given hot water to shower with. Ooops- let me correct myself- we aren't GIVEN WORKING SHOWERS AT ALL! Use a Bucket!
And the Lovely seniors. :)
Thanks to them i did so much in the last few days.
Let me give you an idea-
1) i did the garba to the title track of Kyunki Saas bhi Kabhi Bahu thi.
i sang the song too.
2) i looked for a senior to ask him the definition of an artist.
3) i was asked to say 5 sentences about my boyfriend's personality. Most of the things i said were rejected.
4) i was made to ask out a chappal.
5) i was made to sing choli ke peeche kya hai.
6) i was made to talk so every word i said could be picked on.

oh and just in case you're wondering why i did all this bullshit, or sympathizing because i'm being ragged, Don't.
And its not ragging, just by the way. Its called positive interaction.

Aaaaaarrrggghhh!!

I'm quite snappy and unreasonable nowadays.
Maybe it's the going-away-from-home syndrome. Maybe it's just the sibling back in town thing.
Maybe it's just that i don't like too many things happening around me nowadays.
And you know those people, who erupt like they're Mt. Fuji or something when they're prodded in the wrong way and then scream and shout and make life miserable? Those people who are the most annoying, pissing off human beings who you begin hating just because they behaved like that?
Ya- I'm one of them.
If you don't want to see that side of me, Don't-
1) Not remember to silence your phone in a movie theatre.
2) Give me torn currency notes which are absolutely impossible to get rid of.
3) Talk in a library.
4) Text someone in the same room very obviously.
5) Cancel on me after giving me your word.
6) Hang up on me abruptly.
7) Turn on a light in a dark room without warning, ensuring the victim's pupils are totally dilated.
8) Walk on the back of my shoes or stepping on my feet with your dirty chappals.
9) Tell me "Nobody can hurt you unless you let them" when my best friend or boyfriend has just hurt me and i want to whine.
10) Ask me the time by tapping your watchless wrist. Don't you have a mouth?!
11) Dog ear pages instead of using bookmarks.
12) Say you support Manchester United only because you don't watch football and have no idea about anything else in English football.
13) Throw things on the street and then say "Our city is a garbage dump anyway"
14) Shake your feet and with it the desk while sitting in class or writing an exam.
15) Say something to me. If i miss it and ask you to repeat say "never mind". Come on. That's ridiculously annoying.
16) Get dirty songs stuck in my head.
17) Reek of perfume. You won't stink if you have a normal shower and use regular amounts.

A shout out for the Friends

This one told me Our Story.

6 Days to Go

It's an odd sort of emotion i'm feeling right now.
I'm not geeky enough to know the right word for it. But i'll try to explain.
You know how sometimes in life you want something really really bad? And you work very hard to achieve it. You tell God, "Dude, I'll do anything, give anything away, just give me this one thing".
And then God gives it to you.
Till it really doesn't sink in, you celebrate your little success in life.
And then suddenly it hits you.
like a 440 volts jhatka.
You realise that you gave away something priceless for something of value to you.
What an irony.
What a sadomasochistic deal with God.
So now,
I got what i want.
I'm going to Bangalore in 6 days. To Law School. With 2 of the best friends I've ever made.(i would have preferred another4 coming along, but you can't have everythign in life you know)
My parents are proud of me and i think i got what i deserved. So why am i complaining?
Bombay is sending me away. Because i didn't value it enough.
The place. The emotion. The energy. The history. The friendships. The tears. The Life.
I'm letting it all go. For greener pastures of the garden city?
no.
i can't.
Dear Bombay,
I have something i never told you but must tell you now.
Remember? Valentine's Day 2008? Sitting on marine drive, I stared at the water crash against the rocks(tripods?), watching the spray kiss the sky. the full, swollen moon lighting up the ripples in the water, making it look like liquid diamonds. it was then that i realised how much i love you. eureka moment and all. That night i just knew, you were The One for me.you, are my beautiful, amazing, ever-changing, spirited, breathtaking city. You are the only place, i've ever felt home, ever called home. And you will always be the only place i want to call home. you gave me everything i wanted. you taught me everything i know. you showed me things, i wouldn't have seen otherwise. With you around, i met the most amazing people, did the most amazing things, forged the most amazing bonds. i stand, at the door of the local train, feeling the wind hit my face, looking at you and i know i want that feeling to last forever.
everytime i fell, you're arms were wide open, waiting to catch me. You straightened me up, dusted me off and told me to keep going. You always kept going. You inspired me to hang on. Because i have you, i always know it's going to be alright. And i never thought, that feeling would be snatched away from me. I never thought I'd give it away with at least half my will intact.
I never thought something could separate me from you.
But circumstances did their bitchy thing. *does filmy naheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee action*
In 6 days, i'll be leaving you. And you will be the one i will miss the most.
i have miles to go before i sleep. But you will always be the route i will choose to take. Because i cannot live without you. I'll be back before you know it. For good. I promise.
I Love You,
Niyati

Today's Achievements

Sorry for the delay in posting.
you know how it is with us busy souls.
no time for fun.
no time to post on popular blogs like NLFO.
NOT.
but, i have a genuine excuse. i was on a pilgrimage. Yes you read right. The trip you make where you visit a whole bunch of temples chilling with God, who ultimately may or may not be an existent entity.
it was quite satisfying. I had to thank God for the bloody brilliant results.
I'm going to Law School. Officially.
i'm going to have a productive life. :)
That still doesn't mean i already need to have productive days.
I shall miss having nothing to do. That's how life should be. Like today.
Day's Achievements

1) Felt hot. Its almost monsoon, but its still too bloody hot.
2) Covered up on lost sleep. i have been travelling the last 4 days to random towns and villages in gujarat. You don't have the slightest idea about how tiring it is.
3) Laughed at myself. I was thinking about Men of God i met who were trying to convince my mother that it was just the right shaadi ka yog for me. Me being a minor still, notwithstanding.
4) Appreciated the new shade of green the trees are sporting after the showers.
5) Helped a fool figure out Poker. Then lost at Poker.
6) Tried to get myself a bank account. Failed.
7) Convinced myself that hostel life won't be that bad after all.
8) Told myself i'll go shopping, soon.
9) Decided, after much deliberation, which laptop i want to buy.
10) Finally admitted that i want to go to law school because Elle Woods is my role model in life.

This one's only to amuse myself

SO...
its 3.12 AM and i'm up because i'm not getting any sleep thanks to scary thoughts about the result which is going to be uploaded at 5.00 pm.
The above fact is only relevanat because it tells you how helpless i feel as to have put up what willl follow.
These are random facts to make me feel good. Stolen off a widget.

Random Facts about Niyati
  1. The most honourable way of dying is taking a bullet for Niyati. This amuses her because she is bulletproof.
  2. Niyati can speak Braille and count to infinity.
  3. When Arnold says the line "i'll be back" in the first Terminator movie, it is implied that he will ask Niyati for help.
  4. Niyati doesn't wear a watch. She decides what time it is.
  5. There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Niyati allows to live.
  6. Niyati can slam revolving doors.

Women even Women love.

DISCLAIMER: This post does not imply anything about the writer's sexual orientation.

Women. Beautiful Women. One of those things about life which makes it totally worth living.
Come on. Show me some love. What would you do if you didn't have a beautifull ass to check out on the street? Or eyes lined with kohl to drown in?
What would the poets do if there were no women to praise?
Whose nasheelee aankhein and kaali zulfein would the lyricists write songs about?
A world without women, would be ugly. Period.
And some women, just blow you away. Some women you just want to sit before and look at for hours together. Some you want by your side to show off. and some women are those who you want to sit by all night, watching movies, snuggled up in a blanket.
I'm not a man. So i don't get that privilege. I can only hope to be categorised as one of those women by the man i love. (Yes i AM straight, you homophobic pervert)
But since i have a mind of my own and a blog of my own, i'll make a list of women i'd like to marry(since i cant bear a woman's child without IVF) and post it.
so,
here goes
1] Sonam Kapoor
she's gorgeous. and she has that talkative, charming, giggly thing about her.
And i LOVE what she wears.
And Sonam Kapoor in Masakalli. Dude... WOW.
she gets first place because she's the desi girl man. Indian beauty. That's what i'm talking about.
*Desi Girl(the song from Dostana plays in background)*

2] Penelope Cruz
If there was any woman in the world, i'd agree to have a threesome with, its her.
Raw sex appeal.
That's all i have to say.

3] Megan Fox
Have you seen those lips. DAMN. God really knew what he was doing when he made her.

4] Aishwarya Rai
This woman, dressed in Indian clothing is the most beautiful sight in the Universe. No questions, No arguments shall be entertained. You look at her and you want to sob about why god din't make you so beautiful.

5] Queen Rania of Jordan
Royal beauty. Sensitivity. Sense. And a Fashion Sense.

Drool all you like.
But like you know, they're one of those things in shops labelled-
"You can look but you can't touch".

I'd love to have their children

Most girls check out other girls walking on the street. Its what they do. So do I. And most of the time, it isn't because they're queer. It's just because women are the fairer sex. they've been created to be checked out. hence, men-in-the-life-of-other-women-like-me (who appreciate the female form), i don't want to be the one to play spoilsport, but just because your girl checks out other chicks- you're not getting a threesome.

But, that's not the point of this blogpost.

Deviating from that and coming to the real point. Women have lists. I have lots of lists, and if you've followed NLFO religiously, you'll know that i LOVE lists. This, my friend is a list of people whose children i'd love to bear ;).

1) Daniel Craig

"You must know... surely, you must know it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I'd scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on."

Any man, any man capable of saying this with all sincerity deserves to be on this list

coming back to the original point, chicks. And my interest in them. See, because i check out hot chicks, i also have a list of chicks whose children i'd love to bear. Which ofcourse, since i already told you about it, i will put up.come back for more :)

Nothing Concrete

so,
what is it with holidays and the absolute inability to come up with an incredble blogpost?
i've been waiting for the past four days for an idea to come along, but it just doesn't.
so hell,
im just going to blog for the sake of it.
actually i have three things to mention.

A] Is there anything in the world, hotter than a victorious, weeping champion?
yes, a victorious, weeping champion who loves his mediocre looking wife as much as he did when he was a no body.
Roger Federer baby.
Roger Federer. That man's passion, dedication and intensity drives me INSANE.
tears, goosebumps, the works.
Some people are made to make history.
some(read: us losers) are made to watch it happen and blog about it :D
And because Soderling deserves thoda sa  credit, i'd like to say that i want to be a loser like him. Because, i, am a sore SORE loser.

B] Will it be beyond annoying for me to mention how incredibly bored I am?
is it a mental health disorder?
will it be fatal if mixed wth anxiety?
because the combination is KILLING me right now.

C] Are parents magically granted the ability to be exceptionally pissing off when the baby is born?
how can anybody be so amazingly unreasonable, exceptionally pissing off and still absolutely indispensable at the same time?
and how can you not fight with them and not lose your self respect at the same time?
INCOMPREHENSIBLE. Parents, my dear dear friends, are perennially PMSing chicks.
I'm telling you.

But i'm happy. very happy. i have my reasons.

You know you're a bambaiya when-

Bombay. My first and only true love. sometimes one sided- But BOY! Is it love? or Is it love?!
its my city. where everything is imperfect but you fit in. Hell, everybody fits in.
but only a few city dwellers deserve to be called bambaiyya.
lets lay down the fundamental rules-
1) You call the place Bombay and not Mumbai. Changing the name of this place was criminal on whoever-did-it's part. It continues to be Bombay, VT station and Sahaar Airport. NOT THE NEW NAMES.
2) That yummy thing, which is a puri filled with liquid in it, it's called a Paani Puri. Not a "gol-gappa". And Elco Pani Puri centre, has the best ones in town.
3) You've visited Lalbaugcha Raja. And you know what i'm talking about.
4) If there is anyone who is qualified to be called the God on Earth- Its Tendulkar.
5) Wada Paav is the best way to beat hunger pangs at any time of the day.
6) You must be able to speak Bambaiya. Come on. Even wiki has a page explaining what it is.
7) You've traveled in the local train. ticketless that too :)
8) When you are asked who makes the best tea in town, you know its the guy on the corner of the street. Cutting Chai baby, Cutting Chai.
9) You know Marine Drive and Juhu beach are the best places to hang out in the city.
10) You don't hesitate to punch the person who says delhi is better than Bombay :).
11) You order Bombay Masala when you go to Pizzeria. And its extra special if you're eating it on Marine Drive looking at the Mumbai skyline.
(Ps- I'm officially back and I found my treasure)

You go out, AND YOU GET IT.

Al Pacino's Inch by Inch speech, was just the thing i needed to hear. With the sort of tension in my head right now.

You hav to follow one simple mantra in life.YOU GO OUT, YOU FIGHT YOUR HARDEST AND YOU WIN. Plain and simple.

Life, is pretty much ruthless but there's always going to be something out there just for you. All you have to do is get out there, and grab what you really want. The journey is hard, but the victory is sweet. Oh, so very sweet.

Not a bad case of nerves, not crying, not whining, not paranoia- NOTHING can change your destiny for you or even affect it. Its YOU- all the *ucking way.

And you're never alone if you stand tall. you have your friends, your family, the people who love you- whether you win or lose.

And what is loss anyway? just a hurdle along the way to remind you, you're still on the racetrack. And that you HAVE to finish the race.

your faith in yourself and the fact that everyone in this world is the best at his own game, will take you where you're meant to be.

Like my frend always says- you've got to look Life in the eye and say "Game on, Bitch. Game On."

SO BUDDY, GET OUT THERE- AND TAKE ON THE WORLD.

coz that one naive idiot who once said, its not about winning or losing but how you play the game- may just be right.
